Ooh, you beauty!
You’ve done Barcelona to death, you love Madrid, even Bilbao was nice for the funny Getty museum and all. But where else in Spain should you head if you’re after that magical Hispanic culture/glamour combo? How about Granada?
Not only is Granada real-life proper Spain with flamenco music and everything but it has one of the hands-down most beautiful buildings on God’s green earth. It’s called the Alhambra and it is an ancient Moorish (aka Arabic) palace with the most gorgeous gardens, trickling channels of water, all that lovely tiling those people did so well… And it’s all so amazing that you really will want to go back time after time (make sure you go at night as well, by the way: bats as big as Alsatian dogs swoop down over the pools while the whole thing is lit to perfection).
You’d think that anywhere you actually stayed after seeing that little lot would be a bit of a come-down. You might have had a point if it wasn’t for El Palacio de los Patos. A sumptuous modern-meets-very-old-and-sexy-indeed experience, it’s part of the flawless Hospes group of hotels and is just *breathe* to die for. Check these pictures out if you don’t believe us…
