The National Gallery looks more like a country house than the centre of London’s glittering London!
It’s already like the greenest city on Santa’s, erm, green earth – it’s summing like 30% covered in the verdant stuff – and now London’s got even more. Trafalgar Square. Once grey, now green. See another picture after the jump…
Look, see! Two-thousand square metres of greenery imported direct from Yorkshire, where it was growing just yesterday, laid in Trafalgar Square by Visit London to push the point that the fair city is really a collection of interlinked villages.
The only downside: it’s only staying green for two days. Get down there – it’s totally genius!

Keep it keep it keep it keep it keep it keep it keep it keep it keep it keep it keep it keep it keep it keep it!!!
That’s at the end of my road, that is.
Brings a tear to your eye, don’t it?
Dear Ken Livingstone,
Please make Trafalgar Square green for ever (and ever).
But do remember to water it during the summer months, otherwise it’ll end up looking like Soho Square.
Love,
Me.
We went down there last night and the grass bit is much smaller than you’d think but it was so amazing and everyone was getting really excited and had settled in like it had always been there, sitting on the grass having glasses of wine. It can’t have cost that much to do and it’s really made everyone smile. Nice work whoever did it. More like this please.
