Roll on Christmas

And here’s for why. The cheeenius (we’re sure) movie of Stephen ‘gayser’ Sondheim’s cheeenius musical Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (think songs with titles ‘The Worst Pies in London’) starring Dame Johnny Depp comes out at Christmas. And it’s directed by Tim Burton so you know it’ll be madder than a box of hair.

Also coming this Christmas is the probably-even-more-cheenius Golden Compass, a blasphemous fantasy-type thing based on the Philip Pullman books that will blow all the snow right off the follow-up to The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Here’s a four-minute excerpt, which we feel you should watch. Shall we just say ‘Daniel Craig’ to tempt you…

It also stars Nicole Kidman as the evil Mrs. Coulter (it could just be the role of her lifetime) and also there are talking cats… Could you want more?

  2. Oh Tim freaking Burton will mess this up as he does everything else. Name one decent film he’s ever made. Just one.
