Is it jewellery? Is it art? Is it installation? Is it a load of old ladies’ knickers?

All the white stuff

Whatever it is, we like it and it’s on at the Royal Academy of Art at 6 Burlington Gardens at the heart of glittering London’s glitter.

The artist/jeweller behind it is Theo Fennell and the exhibition – for that is the kind of event we’re talking about here – is to showcase his, you know, stuff. It’s called Show Off! (very you!) and what you can expect is the following.

‘Installations, dioramas (what they?), paintings, presentations and sculptures all showcasing a piece of Fennell’s jewellery’, quoth the nice people at wallpaper*

‘The idea behind the exhibition is to herald a return to the halcyon days of jewellery,’ they go on, rather flouncily we think… oh, there’s more, ‘when our hardware was less status symbol or fashion tag and more precious, perennial and personal.’

So best not wear your knock-off Chanel ‘oops when you go from 25th to 28th September, says we.
