In televisual news of an excitement kind, John Hurt is returning to one of his most j’adored roles – that of Quentin Crisp, in the sequel to The Naked Civil Servant.
The new installment will see John reprise the role for which he achieved muchos acclaim in 1975, as the same-sexualist wit ‘n’ writer – and this time round it’ll be based on Crisp’s diaries and set in ’80s and ’90s New York.
‘He went there because he wanted to be his own man in a new city,’ says producer James Burstall. ‘And also because he wanted to entertain and be entertained.’
