Official: Gay men more stylish than straight men. GQ says so. In a roundabout sort of way.

You so would!

It must be said that men’s mag GQ’s rundown of the 50 most stylish men of the last 50 years is flawless (well almost: ditch those fucking Chuckle Brothers, the murdering Kennedies).

And of those 50, how many are gay? Seven, definitely. Eight if you include Paul Newman… And that’s higher than the 10% it should be…

In amongst those stylish gays are David Hockney (signature glasses and rugby top a definite winner); Hedi Slimane (bringing skinny to a whole new generation); Cary Grant (what is there to say?); Basquiat (hotter in a duffle than Paddington Bear himself); Yves Saint Laurent and Hubert de Givenchy.

We saw it in a rather fascinating article – that also tells you how to ‘get the look’ – here.

  3. It would have been higher if so many gay men didn’t resort to A&F, Zara, H&M and Aussiebum underpants, the fucking tramps.
