Raquel off-of Coronation Street joins the gay icons in Dr Who

Ooh, Curly love

They might as well put a rainbow flag on the Tardis these days.

Dr Who, already gayer than than your average pint-size Hollywood megastar, is about to up its gay rating by recruiting Raquel off-of Coronation Street – also known in circles who watch stuff like Clocking Off as Dame Sarah Lancashire – as a baddie…

We’ve already got Catherine Tate joining as Dr’s assistant, Donna Noble, come the next series, which starts in the Spring, now it turns out that Sarah will be playing an evil businesswoman who takes on the Time Lord (mwa ha ha ha etc).

Sarah commented that she was delighted and it was a great honour and a lot of other stuff that was written by a work experience at her agent’s office.

Look out for that first ep. of the new series which starts – and we’re not giving much away – with an alien invasion in London. And you know how pesky they can be!

  1. Sarah Lancashire once presented the trophies at our swimming gala at school. Everyone was very star-struck. ‘Cept me. I’m used to the big ‘uns.

  2. When I was a young bum boy growing up – are you sitting comfortably? – I used to love Raquel. I dreamed that when i grew up I would move to Manchester and she would come and live with me in a nice flat and we’d both fuck footballers. It, sadly, never came to pass.

  3. I feel the word Icon has largely been devalued by homosexual men.
