You see this lady with tights on his head? His music can no longer be played in Brighton. Hooray!

What's that scribble on his arms?

Meet 50 Cent, the man who likes to wear his panties so everyone can look at them.

Well, under a new by-law, some of his ‘records’ will be illegal in public places in glittering Brighton (sort of like London’s little sister on the south coast).

For why? Because he is offensive to the gays. Lyrically, not just aesthetically…Nasty piece of work Buju Banton (most famous track: ‘Boom Bye Bye (in a Batty Boy Head)’ Translation: ‘Shoot gay men in the head’) was banned from playing the gay Mecca that is Brighton and the council have decided to take it a bit further and threaten to remove the licence of any bar or club that plays ‘hate lyrics’. Like some of 50 ‘I ain’t into faggots’ Cent’s, erm, oeuvre.

‘We have a very good record on equality,’ said someone very high up in Brighton and Hove council (and it’s true! They do!). ‘And we felt it was important to include this in the licencing policy.’

Nice work people.

  3. Muscle-bound, always taking his top off, sweating, wearing tights on his head. He’s down Fire most weekends.

  5. Mmm … I have all of 50 Cent’s albums, and aside from the odd ‘faggot’ … of which there are very few … his music isn’t homophobic … but if they’re into banning ANY sort of reference which could be considered a hate crime, will they be closing churches and mosques as they actually have PRINTED MATERIAL which says gays are wrong … no, I thought not … what a load of tokenistic shit … this will do absolutely nothing for gay rights.

  6. I personally think it’s a great thing. An element of tokenism, perhaps, but I also agree it SHOULD be extended to hate literature in churches, etc. But as we all know, the hate bill they’ve got going on has been a battle at every hurdle because of the dirty religous cunts that control half the House of Lords – so get rid of all the religous cunts, say I. But as a first step, this is very good. Obviously there are always ‘where do we draw the line’ issues – who’s to say what is mysogynistic, par example, in music – should that sorta song be banned in clubs? But when it’s lyrics that literally say ‘let’s kill the fags’, then it’s all rather cut and dry, so therefore I applaud.
