‘Twas the Saturday night before Santymas, and fun people were going here…

Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, fun fun fun fun fun!

It’s the Guilty Pleasures Crimbo spesh! Hurrah! ‘Sically, it’s the last Guilty Pleasures at Camden’s Koko of the year, and Panto is the theme. So if you feel inclined to come all Widow Twanky-d up or as an Ugly Sister or whatever, you won’t get any funny looks/as many funny looks as you may expect.

And if you don’t know the whole Guilty Pleasures ethos, then ’tis something along the following lines: the sort of indulgent music from yesteryear that we’re supposed to feel all guilty about listening to ’cause it’s not ‘cool’ in the Radio 1 sense but in fact we don’t feel guilty in the slightest, which is slightly ironic which therefore makes it cool or something – and add to that a whole bunch of fun-type people jumping about and getting all nostalgic and things, and what you have is, well, a whole load of fun. Who said ‘fun’?

When? Saturday 22nd December, 9.30 – 3am
Where? Koko, Camden, NW1
‘Ow much? £16.50

  1. I’ll be there, but I’m not wearing no panto. We should all go: Consuela, Tequilla, Pilar, Betty, Northern Bastard… Or might we be horrified by each other?

  2. I’ll only go if the promoters admit they stole our Guilty Pleasures game and turned it into an evening of fun and japes down Camden way. Oh, and today’s Guilty Pleasure: Dean Cain off-of Superman-with-Terri-Hatcher. Or is he just a pleasure?

  3. I’m a bit, you know, dunno, re. the Dean Cain. Too clean-cut pour moi, methinks. Teri Hatcher, btw, needs to go to bed now.

  4. Yes, Lulu, The Cain is quite clean cut, but that for me is the guilty part as Danny Dyer he ain’t. Would it also be too much to say that Chevy Chase has always been a guilty pleasure?

  5. Oh my, Chevy Chase… I do confess to a mild-to-spicy tickle downstairs upon seeing him on the telly in my early youth. I wouldn’t have minded a ride down Walley World atop the Chevster…!

  6. Chevy Chase – why yes, I have very fondled memories of watching him as a young boy- ’twas over him I did my first white one.

I also used to have a thing for Murdoch from the A team. at the age of 5 I said to myself that he looked like he would be a very tender lover, and he was.
