Atomic Kitten are back. Hooray?

Airm, Mairsey

Oh, yes, pop-pickers, that talent that is – or was – Atomic Kitten is returneth with a cover of – you won’t believe it! – a Cilla Black song. And no, it’s not ‘Surprise, Surprise’.

It’s all part of Scouser Pride, or, more officially a celebration of Liverpool becoming European City of Culture (don’t laugh) for 2008.

What they’ve done is, they’ve got a bunch of Liverpool people to record one of 56¬†songs that got to number one by other Liverpool people (mostly the Beatles). That is why you have the phenom of AK doing Killer Black (single out on 28th Jan, by the way).

What we’re really hoping for, mind, is Melanie C’s version of Sonia’s ‘You’ll Never Stop Me From Loving You’. Go here to find out what Liverpool folks made number one. But we warn you: the list includes The Lightning Seeds.
