Put some clothes on, man

It is Jake ‘I’m not interested in singing about gay people’ Shears off-of Scissor Sisters!

And while he point blank refuses to write any songs about gay lovin’ for his albums (see here), it seems he don’t mind writing some presumably gay songs for a musical adaptation of Armistead Maupin’s adorable (well, the early ones were) Tales of the City.

Or maybe all the songs focus on Mary Ann…

Apparently, the Shears has been working on the idea for over a year, after a suggestion from a friend, and so far has something like 15 songs, that are just piano and voice.

A friend of his reckons that he’s always been obsessed with the books and quotes him as saying, ’They were a big part of my teenager-hood. They’re just great, great books with amazing characters.’ Steady on Jakey. They were OK, but very sketchy. It’s not exactly Dombey and Son, is it now?

He’s also putting in hard time in the studio working on the SS’s 3rd album which is apparently crammed with ‘dancey, poppy numbers’ and which is going to kick off with a cover version of something. But he won’t say what.

All very excitement we’re sure.

They’re great books if you’re one of those dumb gays who thinks anything San Francisco is amazing and sort a ‘homeland’ and just the best place ever to be if you’re gay … when the fact is, it’s really, really, really overrated, and full of stuck up pseudo boho cunts who think it’s the best place on Earth, when it’s not.
