Patricia Field launches new range for Markies and Sparkies

Putting the spark back in Marks and Sparks. Sorry. M&S, of granny pants and sensible knitwear fame, has employed Patricia Field – the florally brains behind the best of the best Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty outfits – to design an exclusive clothing range for its Autumn collection.

The collection designed by the Emmy award winning 66 year-old Pats, is said to include floral-print dress in champagne and black, puffball skirt, and a black stretch, satin-corseted halter-neck dress. Sounds pretty safe to us.

Patricia elucidates…

‘I have conceptualized the line as ‘Destination Style New York’ and it consists of iconic womenswear including matching accessories. I like to see it as expression of my philosophy of ‘the democratisation of luxury’.

Yes, and we’re sure that’s what the average M&S shopper wants too.
