No, that’s not a soap that washes AIDS clean away.
It’s a soap opera dealing with the fact that, and we quote, ‘HIV is still a big deal’. OK, it’s a bit wordy and a bit preachy (god, who’d want friends like this: you go and cry your heart out that you had drunken sex with someone who’s HIV and they call you an ‘aaaasssshole’! Nice people!) but, hey, it gets the message and the anxiety of the situation across.
And now that we’re officially rebranding AIDS as GRID (it stands for Gay Related Immune Deficiency, and it was the official version of the original ‘gay cancer’), as the United Nations have decided it’s a gay problem after all and that straight people are in no danger (or something), we think it’s a good crack at getting the message out there virally, if you know what we mean.
