We’ll have the top one. And maybe the one underneath, for when friends come to stay.*

Home is where the homo is.

*’Cause you don’t really want ’em in the house.

This is 56 Leonard Street, a 56-storey residential tower in Tribeca, NYC, as designed by Herzog & de Meuron. If it’s possible to be in love with a building, we’re in love. With a building.

Construction has just begun, and it’ll be finished by late 2010. Which gives us *counts* two years to save our pennies. It’s expected lots of pennies will be needed in order to real-life own one of the flats, but we’re confident of our frugality. Bang go the daily soya cappuccinos from Pret. And Planet Organic will just have to do without us for a while.

There are more pics of our new homo home after the jump.

Oooh, fancy. Nice pebble.

Read more about our new gaff here. Flat envy to be expected, btw.

  3. Who the fuck would want to live in a giant glass Jenga? The kind of thing that looks slightly impressive in its illustration phase; fairly good on first completion due to novelty factor; and completely ugly and outdated within five years.
