It’s here! The one you’ve all been waiting for/dreading!

Personally, speaking for ourselves, in our humble opinion etc. the very idea of Priscilla Queen of the Desert as a musical has us booking Eurostar tickets direct out of London but we understand that for some people (people who liked the film and find the idea of men with plastic wigs on ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS), it sounds like a good night out.
Well, those people. Here it is. It starts in March next year and stars none other than professional Australian Jason Donovan (who, considering he made money/a monkey of himself taking The Face magazine to court for suggesting he might be gay, he don’t half make a decent living off it, what with this and the whole Rocky Horror gig) and Tony Sheldon, who, when we Googled him (and they say we don’t research these stories!) came up as Maidenhead’s only independent travel agent.
It’s written by Stephan Elliot, who wrote… oh, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. And it goes on at the Palace Theatre, which is where Spamalot is on now.
Warning to the easily offended: it’s Australian.

Men in dresses ain’t really my bag, but ‘To Wong Foo’ was better by far.
I meant to add: ‘If only because Wesley Snipes in drag was a dead ringer for Mica Paris on Strictly Come Dancing.’
To Wong Foo has *nothing* on PRISCILLA! You all have lost it …
Oooh, it’s drag wars.
Thanks for the warning. I will be avoiding this.
Tony Sheldon is the Bernadette in the Aussie production - saw it earlier this year - it is awesome!!! But jason donovan?????
Pilar! Thank you for clearing that up for me. I knew there was something fishy going on with that woman…
“Awesome” … anyone who says this is obviously someone to be ignored.
