So we were going to do this story along the lines of… ‘Watch the trailer to this film and decide whether you fancy the look of it, and only THEN will we tell you who directed it.’ But a) that would have been difficult ’cause there’s a hwaaage splash about 15 seconds in exclaiming ‘the directorial debut of Madonna’ and b) you’d kinda guess we were talking about Madonna, just because, you know, because. And because.
So here it is. The trailer for Filth and Wisdom. And there are several things we like about the moving picture already. The leading female lady, Vicky McClure, who you may remember from This Is England. Cheeeeeeenius, she is. And e’er so lovely when we interviewed her about a whole other project and refused steadfastly to talk about Madonna. Prolly ’cause Madonna would lynch her if she did. And also we like the moustache. Very now.
Now we’re going to put our hands up at this stage and reveal – exclusively, via ‘Source’ – that we’re not sure when it’s being released in Her Majesty’s UK of Britain. For a moment there we were pretty confused and quite genuinely convinced it had already been released and no-one liked it and Madonna was left weeping into her morning Weetabix with a splash of warmed up Kabbalah H2O, but then we realised that no, it hasn’t actually been released yet. Though we’re reliably led to believe it’s being released in the US and A on October 17th. Note the order in which we related the date, there. That’s so our Americanish friends can understand. If we were writing the date in British, we’d’ve written ’17th October’.
Shush now, and watch the trailer for Filth and Wisdom over the break. It’s a very ‘citing thing.
