She’s clever that Beryl when it comes to choosing movies. She’ll do a Mamma Mia and then turn right round 180 degrees and do Doubt, a dark, grim, unpleasant movie about dark, grim, unpleasant religion. Ugh. Sends a shiver through you, it does.
In it she plays a nun trying to make out that a nice priest has been giving a schoolboy a funny tickle. And, as she’s religious, she needs no proof or even evidence because her faith is enough.
And the clever money (we thought all money was clever!) is on her getting Oscar nommed for the part, along with Sally Hawkins for Happy-Go-Lucky! Much excitement, just don’t make us choose!
Anyways, see the Doubt trailer over the jump…
