Graham Norton to play a big old dolly in La Cage aux Folles.

Nice balls.

Now before we go anywhere, we’d just like to mention how freakin’ genius the current production of La Cage aux Folles is. You know, the one that started off at London’s glittering if terribly wee Menier Chocolate Factory, before transferring to the Playhouse Theatre on the Embankment. We were giddy kippers from start to finish, we can tell you. Giddy, we’re telling you. Kippers!

And now, news has reached us via the world wide dolly, that Graham Norton is to replace Douglas Hodge in the role of Albin. He’s the camp as tits one who has to pretend he’s straight when the in-laws come to stay. It’s all very Birdcage. Oh.

So Graham’s turn starts on 19th January and ends on 25th April. Oh but shitting hell, there are ten dates in-between when he won’t be appearing, owing to telly commitments, which must be a bit gutting when the curtains open and some work experience is sat there instead of that gay bloke off the telly.

The end.

ps. Tickets? Here.

  2. Agreed! This is a fantastic show…if you haven’t seen it, I urge, no, I BEG you to go! And before G. N. spoils it (can he sing? I doubt it!)
La Cage Aux Folles is the original – Birdcage is the American watered-down, appallingly bad version of this classic.
