Who, what, when, where but mostly why?

Now we have noticed a trend. And it’s one that baffles us. Namely, ladies creeping into obviously gay adverts for obviously gay pants bought only by obviously gay men. Wossallthatabout?

We love a lady – before you start – can’t get enough of them, find them funny and sexy and great to have around. But when you’re flogging an article of intimate apparel to a gay – as in the picture above: we’re sure no straight man is going out to buy those panties because the guy’s penage looks great in them – what’s the lady for? Hmmm?

Exhibit A: on page five of the current ish of magoiz Attitude is an advert for XTG pants (us neither) available at gay schmutter vendor clonezone. It features a man wearing briefs, with a girl – face at crotch level – pulling them down and the tag line ‘Even the women will love you…’

Is it us or is someone missing the point about being gay here? We feel a boycott coming on. See another baffling example over the jump…

    It probably sounded good in the pitch meeting, but doesn’t really translate onto the page quite the same way. The campaign probably wasn’t tested before going to rpint (credit crunch innit). Maybe it was thought up by a straight creative trying to show how ‘diversity aware’ they are. Get a cock up yer crack love and you’ll see it all differently.
