This is what we will be wearing next autumn/winter. If we can get the discount.

It’s the highlight of our fashion season: the new collection from Unconditional, now showing in New York, which is a little far for us to schlep on a schoolnight. But we have been fingering fabrics (not models, just fabrics), holding contact sheets up to the light, doing our mirror face with clothes held up against us… all to select our favourites from Unconditional AW (that’s autumn/winter) 09/10. More after the jump…

  1. trews tucked into boots is always a no-no i’m afraid, as is any kind of neck-erchief. but i am partial to a 3/4 length car coat with a belt just under the bust. nice.

  3. Oh Tones (see i’ve now added an ‘s’), I must disagree on the boots thing. Well, okay, ever so… See, I’ve been working the jeans in boots thing for a while now. In fact, I first started doing it in the A/W of 06/07, a full year before Topman etc cottoned on. I was inspired by Ray Petri ‘n’ chums. A year later, all the windows are doing it… So I considered dumping the look but thought no, I actually do it with panache, and my boots are real life ex-army ones and I do have a nice shaped leg (not lumpen, you’ll be glad to hear), and the jackets I team the look with are very, well, hot. I even had a very famous (and good!) designer indeed complimenting me (she shall remain nameless), saying, and I quote, ‘That is how that look should be done.’ So I’m sticking with it. For now anyway.
But I must agree, there are a lot o’ gays and others who look like knobs when attempting this look.
And I’ve just realised I’ve written a dissertation, without so much as a biscuit break. I’m off to eat a Penguin.

  4. Penguin? the smart money’s on Tunnocks you know…
i recall Petri fondly, the Buffalo thang, when the Face was actually worth the money. then i’m talking ‘old’ money not pence and stuff.
congrats on your fierceness Lulu but i have two cautionary words for you; Pixie and Boots.

  5. Tis True, our Tones. But the lucky thing is that I look nothing like the partying potato Pixie Geldof. Phews.
