Did it occur to anyone that when Susan Boyle said she wanted to be the new Elaine Paige, THIS was what she was actually basing her look on?

She's a potato actress. Name that quote.

So over a hundred million people worldwide have now seen Susan Boyle coming out on the Britain’s (obviously not) Got Talent stage and say that she would like to be the new Elaine Paige, star of West End.

But while we cackled over Susan Boyle’s look – the shaggy hair, the ill-applied maquillage, the raggedy dress – did it not seem feasable that she has actually based her entire look on Ms. Paige as she appeared in the excrutiating Cats?

It’s the best publicity Elaine Paige has had since French and Saunders mistakenly called her a ‘potato actress’ when they actually meant ‘petite actress’.

Jump the jump to see the evidence (and see a ‘highlight’ of the only musical scientifically worse than Starlight Express)…

  2. Oh dear. Starlight Express was bad, but scientifically the worst musical ever was Which Witch at the glittering Picadilly Theatre. Who can forget the first act finale with dwarves made up as little devils wielding pitchforks and giant penises as the maiden was tied to the stake and set a blaze. It does get extra points for giant penises. Now if the dwarves had been on roller skates it could have run for years. For more info go to http://www.whichwitch.no and relive the glory of Norwegian epic musical theatre. Burn, Baby, Burn!
