Meet nine-year-old Ethan McNamee from Denver, Colarado. He’s the world’s youngest gay rights campaigner (heck there may be younger ones but we’ll assume for now).
*offers hand; curtseys*
Ethan – after hearing anti-gay abuse in his school playground and learning that the lesbian parents of a friend of his weren’t allowed to marry – decided to organise a gay rights rally.
Ethan worked like a bloody trouper to find speakers, gain permits, and ship a load of poppers in for the event, which was held last Saturday. Two hundred people turned up.
‘I believe I am doing the right thing. I hope this rally will make an impact and let our voices be heard,’ said Ethan.
Some critics – whilst no doubt burning effegies of our hero – accused Ethan of being too young to have views on same-sex marriage. Which basically translates to, ‘If you don’t agree with what I think, I’ll patronise you’. And/or ‘I haven’t gotten around to brainwashing you yet.’
ps. The Daily Mail just called and said the country has gone to the dogs, they fear for their children and grandchildren, it’s PC gone mad (MAD!), The Krays? Ever so good to their mothers, we’re all going to DIE!!!!!, this never would have happened if Margaret Thatcher was still in power, in their day they could leave their back door open, BRING BACK HANGING!
pps. Watch little Ethan doing his thang over the break sponsored by Sainsbury’s Pistachio Nuts (we’re trying to cut down on the sugar)…
