Here’s a tough one, assuming you give a flying finger of Fudge about goings-on in Her Majesty’s Anglican Church of England and the World. Given the choice would you prefer…
a). a Church which maintained global unity at the level of some retarded Nigerian bishops who think gays should be stoned to death, women locked in the basement and children ritually abused behind the altar.
b). a Church of England (and maybe Europe and America, some bits of Australia and Gibraltar) where the gays were treated like – here’s an idea! – ordinary people. Where, like women and straight men, they were allowed to become bishops, if the bonnet suited them. Where they could perhaps have their unions blessed in church, seeing as they’d been together for forty years. Where hatred was at least frowned upon.
Tricky one, huh? Not for the Archbishop of Cant, the once-respected Rowan Williams of the Dodgy Beard. According to RoRo, we should accept that African values are applicable to modern Britain/America/Europe, stop being silly and expecting people to be accepted as *checks notes* people and buckle down and accept that the unity of the Anglican Church is paramount.
And so endeth the lesson for today.
