Grab your quill, lick the tip and put Sunday 6th September in your Moleskins because that is the date of the Bistrotheque’s Annual Drag Ball (or BAD Ball if you’re short on time), celebrating the finale of the fantabulous Jonny Woo’s Ballo in Mascara.
It’ll be an evening of catwalk-show-cum-talent-contest-cum-come-to-daddy, and persons there present will be invited to join ‘Houses’ (think Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin andcetera) and compete in such categories as International Diva in a leading role (throwing a strop), London Fashionista at the Opera, Pushy Mother with kids at a ballet audition… And with a judging panel that boasts (yes boasts… it’s summink to be proud of, see?) the likes of Justin Bond off-of Kiki and Herb, Katie Grand off-of LOVE magoizine, Roksanda Ilincic, Henry Holland and Lulu Kennedy off-of fashion, to name drop but a few, it looks to be a delectable night of drink, drag and debauchery… and all that on a school night.
Here’s the science bit: Bistrotheque’s Annual Drag Ball is at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden this Sunday from 11pm. For more information, visit the official Bistrotheque site, the Royal Opera House site or call 020 7304 4000 from a telephone.
