Is this not the stuff of which gay dreams are made? Add a couple of Dieux du Stade boys and we’re hunkered in for the winter

Love to love it

Take the two biggest gay icons OF ALL TIME (all time, we tell you. All. Time), mash ’em up and what have you got?

A sublime and rather silly collection of songs by MaDonna Summer (get it? Reminds us of the first time Ruby Wax was ever introduced to Madonna, misheard her name and spent the evening calling her Donna!)

Anyways, imagine numbers such as ‘Sunset Hollywood’ where ‘Sunset People’ from Donna’s Bad Girls album meets ‘Hollywood’ from Madge’s American Pie.

And ‘I Feel Justified’, where ‘Justify My Love’ provides the backbeat for Donna’s ‘I Feel Love’.

And perhaps least successfully ‘4 Minutes (Is Enough)’, where Barbra and Timberlake, Bananarama and Sandy Bernhard join the party. But it’s still funny.

Hath the angels truly blessed us on this the day when Madonna enters regally upon peacock feathers into the Guinness Book of Records for Solo Artist with Most Number One Albums for Celebration (why no ‘Angel’ on that collection, btw?)?

The mash comes courtesy of The Gentlemen Thieves, a mash up all its own of two DJs, DJ Shyboy and DJ King of Pants, and you can hear the lot here.

Now, someone tell us how we get this lot onto our iTunes…

  2. :-) Hollywood is from Madge’s American Life, not American Pie. I love spotting people’s mistakes :-)
Another BIGGER mistake is: THE BIGGEST GAY ICON is NOT Madonna or Babs. It is KYLIE MINOGUE!!!!!
She has been a gay icon since she was 18, and has gone through a lot in her life. Plus Kylie’s songs are fun and the gays love it. She is also an OBE. So there.
