So, while Kylie is in the US and A, taking money hand over fist from the gays, her sister Dannii, who has actually fronted anti-homophobic campaigns such as the one above conceived by – who was it again? – oh, that’s right… us! – has been had up for a vicious gay bashing. Or something.
What it is is… on Saturday’s show, when Anal Danyl came out to do his (piss poor) rendition of Jennifer Holliday’s ‘And I’m Telling You…’ sorry, that should be, ‘AND I’M TELLING YOU…’ (it’s the song that starts big and then BUILDS) and changed the line ‘You’re the best man I’ve ever known…’ to ‘You’re the best non-gender-specific-sexual-partner I’ve ever known’, Dannii pulled him up on it.
‘Seeing as the whole world knows you take it royally up the poop-chute,’ she said (we’re paraphrasing, naturally), ‘why wouldn’t you just admit to your bum-friendly ways in the song?’
So, last night, in a show with the dark shadow of Stephen Gately’s demise all over it, Dannii had to say she didn’t mean anything by it, everyone said that Anal had had a good old laugh about it himself and even Simon Cowell had to chip in with, ‘When I called Dannii a homophobic skank, it was only because I was being protective of my artist…’ (again, paraphrasing).
