X Factory finalists do Micky J’s ‘You Are Not Alone’ for Great Ormond Street. Is it uncharitable to say, how much fucking money must that hospital have?

'You are not aloooooone, I am here with youuuuuuuuuu'

We love X Factory (can we take this opportunity to say how head-and-shoulders – and not the shampoo – above the pack Lucie is but how we’d still like Spazzy Stace to win?), we love Michael Jackson, we love charity, we love sick children (in a concerned, healthy way), we love that X Factory finalists are doing a Michael Jackson song for charity and that sick children will benefit… It’s just that, is Great Ormond Street the only charity in this country?

Johnny Depp donated a million out of his pocket, Alan Sugar donated his fee for some advert, almost every charitable event that happens seems to benefit that one London hospital. Is there no hospice for small children somewhere that could use the cash? Do not, say, the elderly deserve a look-in when it comes to this sort of thing (obviously, Afro Jamie wouldn’t be able to be pictured in the tabloids holding an elderly lady in the same way as he would a three-year-old, which is probably a factor)? In a wide, wide world of noble causes (that’s actually a Joni Mitchell quote), does it all have to funnel in the same direction?

Just saying.

  1. I really hate Stacey and was furious that Rachel seemed to be channelling her on Saturday!
