A new biography of Warren Beatty off-of he probably thinks this post is about him, claims he has slept with just shy of 13,000 women.
That was our way of repeating part of the headline but in a different manner. It’s a living for some people.
Peter Biskind, author of Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America, came to this conclusion using the well known techigue of stabbing in the dark. Or the dusk, to give him credit. What Peter did, was, work out the number of days between Wazza losing his virginity at the rather respectable age of 19 and the date in 1991 when he met Annette Bening and fell upon monogamy (whatever for?), and decided that he must’ve schtupped (charming!) at least one of the womens per day during that period. Peter does not include in this figure, as mentioned mere momentos ago (during which Warren would’ve added a few post-its to his Tracey Emin tent were he not now a one-woman gennelman) ‘daytime quickies, drive-bys, casual gropings, stolen kisses and so on’.
First of all, ‘drive-bys’? Are those akin to drive-by shootings? A drive-in movie? An After Eight McFlurry at the McDonald’s drive-through? Dogging?
Second of all, ‘casual gropings’? What is this, The City?
Third of all, ‘and so on’? What is he, gay?
Now then, now then… Peter Biskind is quite the revered author in showbiz parts. Ish. He wrote Easy Riders, Raging Bulls which forms part of our esteemed ‘books we own but shall probably never read’ pile, so therefore deserves a partial nod in the right direction, but as for this figure – may be true, but he may as well have just pressed the lottery button of a Wednesday evening and not bothered with the math.
But seeing as we’re here, the ladies plural whom Warren has seduced include Diane Keaton, Madonna, Isabelle Adjana and, apparently, Sir Dame Joan Collins, to whom Biskind credits the following post-coital recommendation:
‘I don’t think I can last much longer. He never stops. It must be all those vitamins he takes.’
Maybe she should have had more than just the one delicious chocolate-covered croissant.
