Someone’s gone to the trouble of doing a compare ‘n’ contrast of Madonna and Lady Gaga vidoes, to a backing track of the former’s ‘She’s Not Me’. If we have to explain at this juncture, you’re clearly on the wrong site (not you, honey. You’re divine). Where would we be without people who go to the trouble?

Chew first.

We chose a picture of Madonna putting something in her gob because it reminds us of happy times.

And, crazy world we live in, we just looked out the window at the penthouse flat opposite with floor-to-ceiling windows and enough space to do this *makes ‘ta-daaaa!’ gesture, going high and wide* which gives us home-envy, and there’s a not ugly-looking man playing table football. Is that what you call it? Table football? The thing with the table and the little men and the ball and someone stands either side having chufties…? We’ve seen them in the offices of men’s magazines. And now the flat opposite.

The flat opposite is wasted on straights. They even had a party, once. Once…!

The space underneath is mixed-use. By day, they are architects. By night, they watch TV. What will they think of next?

Back to Lady Gaga-cum-Madonna (it’s surely only a matter of time), and this video is not only enjoyable, but something else entirely we’ve yet to decide on…

  2. Well, I can respect them both creatively and there is going to be some overlap. Gaga is entirely the next generation, after all — and she concedes to Madonna’s influence. Remember: A LOT of what Madonna represents as original style & innovation is actually based on art, television, photography and other mediums. One example: Madonna *did* get sued, after all, for her HOLLYWOOD video (and rightly so, in my opinion) for lifting it entirely from a rather famous series of photographs (by a living photographer & a recent work). And *still* no one bought that single … (-: Much love to them both though! Time will tell if Gaga can produce a quality back catalogue like that of Madonna.

  5. I forgot how nice that Madonna song was. I found that album, every song had a little bit to spoil it, this one included.

  7. I love how gaga has rendered Madonna completely irrelevant in the space of 12 months. and the argument that gaga has ‘stolen’ from madonna is void – madonna has based her entire career on being inspired by (read: blatantly ripping off) other artists/musicians/film-makers. pop will eat itself – enter gaga.
