Anne Rice off-of Interview with the Vampire: ‘I can’t find in scripture a basis for persecuting gay people’

Rice Rice Baby

She puts it so much better than we did when confronted by a bunch of God botherers down at the Gay Pride the other week.

While Anne Rice argues very convincingly that the Church’s obsession with gays, which has no basis in the teachings of one Little Baby Jesus has made her give up Christianity, our approach was more along the ‘why don’t you fuck off you bunch of cunts’ line. But only after we’d told them that if Jesus was here today (and she may well have been) she would have been overturning their money-lending tables like all buggery.

Both equally effective but only the sense that arguing with Christians is a waste of breath because they don’t think straight. Which is kind of an irony, right?

  1. Since when does logic, reason or even scripture affect whether or not christian nutters persecute gay people? It’s what they do. At least now that is frowned upon to outwardly persecute women, people of colour, the disabled, left-handed people, gingers, albinos … they can’t exist or survive WITHOUT creating an us/them=good/evil bit of societal insanity!

  2. phew… now I can continue reading her wonderfully written books. Her vampire stories are miles better than the new generation of vampire writers of today.

  3. It’s as simple as this. Clever and good people are on the side of rationale and gay people; bad people are on the side of the God botherers/are interchangeable.

And that CNN presenter is really bad.
