Our Glorious Leader speaks. So shush.

Madonna on Ellen, gay bullying

This is Madonna on the Ellen Degeneres show in the Americas, telling the assembleds that bullying people because they’re gay is a bad thing. So far, doe re mi fa so. La ti doe.

Now as much as we j’adore her for doing this, and she does indeed make a couple of decent points (‘it’s like lynching people because they’re black or like Hitler exterminating Jews’) – and we even like how nervy she seems (it’s as though she actually means it!) – but, well, we can’t help but be a little underwhelmed. Might our expectations be too high? How about too high?

Like when as soon as she says ‘it’s like lynching people because they’re black or like Hitler exterminating Jews’, she has to immediately counterbalance with a flag-waving piece of nonsense: ‘This is America. The land of the free and the home of the brave.’ You know, just in case her liberal radicalism gets the stupids to thinking she’s a communist or some such.

And a comment which naturally gets the entire audience frothing at the fanny. Whoever said Americans don’t get irony?

But there you go, OGL telling it like it is. And it also transpires she’s got nits in the house. She doesn’t say which of her children is responsible – it would be naughty seeing as during her anti-bullying rhetoric she spuriously starts going on about the perils of ‘gossip’ (missing the bigger point at hand, somewhat) – but it’s good to know the little blighters don’t see privilege, they just see hair.

  1. I think her grasp on American history is a bit dodgy but her hands don’t look half as bad as everyone makes out.

  2. She doesn’t seem to have a grasp of the real world anymore. Her references seem more about her poor youth than really getting to the point of speaking TO those that are feeling helpless. She just seems to speak ABOUT them.

  3. The usual clunky, pseudo Intellectual, inarticulate guff. She’s no doubt freaking out that Gaga has been stealing all the ‘pro-gay’ brownie points. TWAT.

  5. Twat? Dont be such a stupid cunt, Pandapop.

There can never be enough people in the world speaking up for gay rights. Whether their words be clumsy or “pseudo intellectual”, at least Madonna is bothering. She doesnt need to. Good on her.

  6. Let’s face it, she’s always been there for the gays. Remember the first ever bit of safer sex information was in her Like a Prayer album. Still waiting to hear what Kylie has to say. But then we have been waiting seventy odd years….

  7. I agree, Hoooo (four o’s, right?) and Diana, LPoW… we can never have enough people standing up against homophobia, especially when the hate we suffer is so monstrous (see that other story on here about the retarded priest in Belgium), and we have one of the most powerful people on earth (the Pope) obsessively pitted against us.
Fortunately, we have clever and good and rational people on our side, but that – unfortunately – has never been enough.
