‘There are always people you can turn to for help, whether it’s friends or family or the drag queen on the corner…’ Perhaps the best advice to come out of the whole It Gets Better campaign…

We have loved the It Gets Better campaign that was started by Dan Savage in the good ole United States and America. But rarely have we heard better advice than from this rag, tag and bobtail of drag queens doing their version. We particularly like, ‘The prom queen and the captain of the football team? They’re losers…’ and the bit about how bullies end up being the boring people working in Walmart.

See the video over the jumpsy (hold up your skirts, girls!)…httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueTy8vqZSKc&feature=player_embedded#!

  1. I know everyone who’s doing these vids has their hearts bang in the right place but I think some of them are a little counterproductive in that if you are a hot teenage lez and see some 50-something bulldyke telliing yoiu it’s going to get better, that might not seem that reassuring. Knowwhomsayin’?

  2. The fact is things didn’t get better for these people. They created a ghetto to live in, so that they could exist. They separated themselves from the rest of society. They’re still viewed as freaks and oddballs. In their little bubble it got better. But for everyone else, life continued as normal. Amen.
