May we please to introduce you to our new favourite TV show which starts tomorrow…

If you were trying to make the gayest show in the whole wild world, what would you need? *counts on fingers*

Something about showbusiness, obviously. Something with Marilyn Monroe references. Get someone from Will & Grace, say Debra Messing, to be in it, maybe. A bit of Hollywood royalty, we don’t know – Angelica Houston, perhaps? – for pizzazz. A couple of hot guys – how about that guy who used to be in This Life? Jack Davenport, was it. A gay, naturally, cute but not too cute. Male dancers in revealing sweats. Put it all together and what do you have?

Smash.

That’s what you have. It’s on Sky Atlantic from tomorrow and they’re calling it Glee for grown ups. We’ve seen the first two and it’s better than that. Hot recommend.

Now back to work.

  1. I have seen. I have loved. I approve. It’s a bit Chorus Line, a bit Kids from Fame, a bit Glee, a bit shit, a bit fabulous.

  2. Don’t get too excited. It’s in its final throes here Stateside and it’s fucking awful. Wretched. Really, really, REALLY terrible. Gird your loins.
