Nick Griffin, leader of the BNP (not the Banque Nationale de Paris, unfortch), the man whose head goes directly into his shoulders without the benefit of one of those foreign, Communist, faggy neck things, has said that gays getting married will lead directly to children dying. And not just dying their hair either.
Civil partnerships, he said in an interview with a Leeds student magazine (well, the Sunday Times were slow off the mark) were a way of “sliding towards marriage for everyone through the back door.” Back door! Ooh, he’s bold!
‘It undermines the institution of marriage,’ he went on, ‘and as a result of that, children will die.’ Oh, OK then.
‘Children will die over the next few years, because they’ll be brought up in homes which aren’t married.’ Erm. Well, it wasn’t the homes that were getting married, it was the people in them. And unmarried people sometimes don’t kill their own children. Married ones – like Fred and Rose West – sometimes do. But let’s not allow pesky facts get in the way of good jokes.
In unrelated news he went on to explain why there is homophobic prejudice. ‘Why can’t you people…’ You people? ‘Why can’t you people simply get over it and tolerate the fact that a lot of heterosexual people – we don’t want to persecute you – but we find the sight of two men kissing creepy. That’s just a fact. What’s the problem?’
So, there you have it. Nick Griffin, knitwear model and housewives’ favourite, the hunk with no neck, finds you creepy. So just get over it. You people.
Gay marriage will kill children. So says that nice Nick Griffin character.,
