Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose, a bunch of guys you may or may not have been to school with popping up on Grindr at your parents’ house… that’s what Christmas means to us. Oh and booze.
So, there we were flipping through the Amazon website in our bra and panties with a hot toddy for medicinal purposes looking for ideas for our Christmas lists and what she we come across (in terms of ‘discover’) but Steps’ new album! The first since, ooh, ages! And it’s a Christmas one!
It’s called Light Up The World, its cover contains a picture of Claire Richards off of Steps clearly airbrushed with a street cleaner’s shovel and it is all sparkly and gay.
And in amongst all the usual bollocks – Please Come Home for Christmas, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas – we spotted History Is Made At Night from Smash. Which is like one of our top songs from Smash. We are delighted. Dilated even.
End of story and of two minutes you’ll never get back. Not even for ready money. Still, forewarned is forearmed.
Steps cover Smash in new Christmas album! *computer automatically shuts down because of dangerously gay sentence*,
