Thatcher’s death gets Judy Garland back to the top of the charts! That must say something.

Dead!

We have steered clear of this subject because we know that the death of Margaret Thatcher, inventor of the hugely homophobic Section 28, which banned teachers from discussing homosexuality in schools, has divided a nation. A world even (well, that bit of the world that has heard of her. We once lived with a Harvard student who didn’t know her from a hole in his anus). Anyways…

Despite our news blackout, we feel we should report that the song ‘Ding Dong the Witch is Dead’, credited as by Judy Garland et al. (we love Al. We have all his albums), has crashed into the iTunes charts at number 2 in ‘celebration’ of the death of, you know, her. Mrs.

S’funny. Unless you don’t think it’s funny in which case it’s totally not.

  2. Oh that’s a cop out. So many gays don’t have a clue what a menace Thatcher was and would do well to get some much needed guidance. You’re normally so good at doing the news.
